Open Water Scuba Instructor
When and where was your first dive ?
My first confined water dive was at Ribblesdale pool with Reefers and Wreckers in August 2009. My first open water dive was at Capernwray eight weeks later and I have not looked back.
What made you want to become a professional diver ?
I became a professional diver firstly as a personal challenge and secondly to meet people from all walks of life and set them off on their diving journey.
Favourite type of diving ?
Haven’t got a favourite, just love to blow bubbles!
Best Dive ?
Best dive to date has to be my 100th dive – night dive on the Thislegorm when me and my buddy saw this mahoosive crocodile fish!
Dream diving destination ?
Silfra in the Thingvellir National Park, Iceland
Favourite piece of dive equipment and why ?
Anything in the colour ……. pink!
Favourite marine life ?
I never tire of seeing the same marine life. No two dives are ever the same but I do have a soft spot for octopussies!
If you could choose any buddy who would it be ?
Alive: my son George
Dead: Jacques Cousteau
What is your next diving goal ?
Professionally: become an Instructor
Recreationally: dive with whale sharks
Best water related joke ?
My instructor always stressed that you should never go diving alone. If you have equipment problems, your buddy can help you. If you run out of air, your buddy can help you. If you meet an aggressive shark, your odds are 50-50 instead of 100%.
